BIOGRAPHY

Oona Kapari is a highly experienced recording and mixing engineer. She has produced two Emma-nominated albums (the Finnish equivalent of the Grammys) in the categories of Ethno-Emma and Critics' Choice, as well as recorded two solo albums of her own — both selected as Album of the Week on Radio Helsinki.

She holds a double degree from the Pop & Jazz Conservatory, majoring in electric guitar and music technology and went on to deepen her expertise in France and Sweden with Grammy Award–winning and nominated producers such as Andrew Scheps, Greg Wells, and Emile Haynie.

After nearly a decade as an in-house recording engineer at Finnvox Studios — the most renowned recording studio in Finland — she founded her own Kuohu Studios in Helsinki, followed by a rebel record label, Kuohu Records, dedicated to releasing music from female and non-binary writers and producers.

Today, she continues to work with a variety of inspiring artists and music while also engaging in public discussions about the music scene and industry. In addition to recording, producing and mixing, she supports artists and producers by teaching music production and mixing, providing feedback on their songs, and helping them find their own path and sound.

It's all about the sound.
